WILD ORCHIDS collection, extends Vanderwalker-Kroll's expression of on-shore jungle color her understanding of the soft hues of the Belizean jungle behind stark Orchid presentation. These four watercolors are a recognition that layering of color
builds the mood of the jungle while life itself is dependent
on presentation of the jungle flower and propagation of the plants themselves.

This is not unlike the rain forests of Central America being possibly in danger. Wild Orchids are arguably Kroll’s presentation of the delicate against the fore-deep.

These interpretations of nature by Vanderwalker-Kroll are not accidental but come from an inner need to show to the world a view of things we might take for granted, but not in Belize and not in the eyes of the artist. Lee Kroll represents only one hand in the presentation and characterization of Belize and on a larger scale the Caribbean and the tropics themselves.
